  1. The first visible sign of a cat's pregnancy will be her swollen nipples which will be a deep coral pink. This pinking will be more noticeable if this is your cat's first pregnancy. Since she is an indoor cat, she might be in heat. You might call your vet; rather than the trauma of a visit, he/she will probably console you over the phone (or, advise a visit if warranted).

  2. Is she large? My male has "man b***s" where he is flabby. Otherwise, you may want to consult a vet to make sure there is no cist.

  3. Probably your cat is in heat.

  4. The first sign of cat pregnancy is enlarged, pinker nipples.

The vet can do an ultrasound to be sure.

If you aren't prepared for kittens then get her spayed now.  Free to good homes can result in kittens taken for abuse or sold into animal testing and shelters are already packed with healthy kittens who will be put down.

No matter what she should still see a vet to make sure she's healthy.  If you're completely sure she's never had access to an unaltered male then still get her checked out.  Something is going on with her and she should get a check up.

  5. The most likely answer is that you're about to be a kitty grandma!  If her b*****s are swelling, then she may be pregnant and nearing her due date.  On fatter cats that hide their pregnancy well, this is sometimes the only sign that they're expecting before SURPRISE they have kittens at their sides. Mother cats start producing milk before the kittens are born, so that they have full bags to feed the hungry kittens as soon as they arrive.
