ive found out that cat is being a sneaky little cat. he come into our house to eat and then goes off all day, and we wondered where he could be going so we watched him from the window and we saw him walk into the house opposite us!!! and a few days ago the lady who lives there said to my mum 'gosh hes cheeky isnt he, he was sleeping in my bath the other day so i left out a blanket for him to make it more comfy, and the other day he woke me up by jumping on my head!' my mum was just like yes ha, she wouldent say anything as shes too nice. but this lady is stealing our cat! and apparently she has a reputation for doing it as the neighbours up the road moved house and told the lady she might aswell keep their cat as it spent more time with her than them. im just getting a bit worried as my cat is getting quite fat as shes obviously feeding him! we know hes been there as he comes back smelling like horrible perfume!! eurghhh, helppp.

  1. I'm a bit like your neighbour and feed the odd stray , I know I shouldn't but I love cats and I feel deep down that the cats belong to someone , anyway I would call on your lady neighbour and come clean on what you know , you may end up as friends in common.

  2. Your only solution to the problem would be to keep your cat indoors.  If you allowing your cat the freedom to roam where ever he/she pleases, you have no control of where they go.  Its a little rash to accuse this woman of stealing your cat.  She is not physically coming over to your property or house and picking up your cat and taking it back to her house.  Just be grateful that she hasn't kept your cat for good.  Also you shoud be thankful that your neigbor is giving the cat lots of love and attention.  Please either keep him indoors, or you can go outside with the cat and make sure you bring it in when you go back inside.

  3. ask her not to feed your cat say its got amedical condition or something and not to let it in coz u gotta give it pill every hor or so:) it work for me

  4. Maybe you should have a polite word with this neighbour and see what happens, say you don't mind it coming over occasionally but not all the time and ask if she would stop feeding it please as you feed it enough

  5. Besides being dangerous for the cat and for wildlife, this is another reason cats should be indoors cats with the exception of barn cats.

I don't know what you could do other than make it an indoor cat, may be too late though.

  6. :-O naughty lady!!

Cats will make their home wherever the food is...

I'd be livid if it were my cat! Go straight round there, and politely ask her not to feed your cat.  You could say your vet is concerned about your cat getting fat.  Perhaps offer her the number for RSPCA where she can get her own rescue cat.

  7. Maybe you should shut him in for a while, get a kitty litter tray. Sow him lots of love and affection and make sure he is comfortable with you and your home before you let him out.

You shoudl also speak to this lady and tell her that she should stop feeding him because it's bad for him.

Buy him a collar and write your address on the tag, to stamp your ownership onto him!

  8. cut its legs off, not the old ladies, your cats.

  9. You can maybe explain this to the women, but theres nothing you can do to stop her, and the cat has a mind of his own so is just gonna do what he wants anyway

  10. Well, you should be grateful that your cat picked a nice lady's home  and she treats your cat with care and love.  Your cat could have very easily  picked a home where they were mean and didn't like cats and could have done harm to your cat. (like poisoned it on purpose).

You should definitely get a name tag with proper identification of his address and owner so she will get the notion that he does have a home.

But it wouldn't hurt for you to go to the nice lady's home and tell her you saw your cat coming out of her house and you do appreciate her "lending a hand", but he does have a home no need for her to go out of her way.  It can be done (said) in a very nice way without hurting her feelings or being mean.

And lastly, maybe you should think again about making him a house cat.  The next time he could go to the wrong house and then you wouldn't have a cat at all !!!!!!!!!!!

    Good Luck.   Meow.

  11. You ask that Lady politely to stop feeding your cat, because he/she needs to go on a diet. Also ask the lady not to encourage your cat to come to her house, instead shoo him/her away.

    Good luck. X :-)

  12. Why don't you lie to the other lady and say that your cat is diabetic and so it's important that he doesn't get any extra food and that he needs to come home for insulin injections and so she shouldn't let him in your house.

You can then encourage your cat to come home by having set meal times and maybe keeping him in at night. It wouldn't be fair to keep him as a house cat after he's been out and to be fair I don't think cats should be kept completely inside anyway.

    Good luck :)

  13. Keep him inside your house for a bit so he gets used to the home again so he realizes which house is really his. And ask the lady not to let him in her home.

  14. You should keep him in your house for a while or (this might not be very nice) you could just start chatting to the lady and say your thinking of getting a new cat because you never see yours any more. It might guilt trip her so she wont let the cat back to her house.

I had the same thing happen, but it was the cat coming to me, and we found his home and took him back, (he lived about 4 streets away), but he amways came back. In the end since we didnt let him in he wandered further away and one day got ran over.
