I just moved about 5 hours ago........ and I brought my cat over who is only 8 months old and not a big out door cat, he mainly hung outside my old house. I had him in my new place for about 5 minutes before he bolted out the door. I live in Vancouver city and am very upset..... what are the chances he'll be back to THIS location....? I heard they will go back to their old location? Is this true....

  1. Try going through the neighborhood calling for him so he'll know you're around. Microchipping is a great way to protect your pets. When they get lost you call a number and they can locate them for you. I hope you find him :( Put up signs, post at local vets, and post in the paper.

  2. i moved cats b4 and one back a half yr later one came backa month later and one i brought in june and i havent seen her since......    yea some cats can find there way back to there old place

    hoope u find him

  3. Well it usually is  but this  once happened to me once i loved my cat but we moved and my cat ran away we lived there for 1 month. And my cat ran away 3month l8er i was crying still and listening to sad music. And well i prayed to god (for the 1st time) to let her come back. That night we had a pizza on are porch she came back but we had to keep her in the porch in till a rat-coon came in to are porch then we let her in  then i prayed to gos saying thank you i stayed up to 7:00 am with my cat holding her

=D so there is a chance your cat may come back. Did what i did.

    GOOD LUCK!

  4. Cats have been known to return to a prior home, but there is no guarantee.  Put up fliers, introduce yourself to your neighbors and let them know.  Also let your old neighbors know.  I am not sure how far you moved from your old house so you can be the judge if you think it is likely that he will return there.  Contact shelters so they can be on the lookout, and call them daily.  Also contact local vets in your area and let them know.  Put out some food that may help him.  I would get him a microchip if he returns, and keep your info updated with that company. If he has a microchip, make sure they have your info correct.  Good luck, I hope you are cuddling your kitty soon.

  5. check under the deck, if u have one. thats where i found my cat. he was under there for 2 days. he was dying, and just stayed there, until wefound him and pulled him out. he prob wont come back. put up fliers, then walk around town and ask ppl if they had seen them.

  6. cants have a good sence of smell so he may come back i had a dog that ran away when i was 9 it was tha winter time at was snowing bad and he came back after 13 days so you may still have luck your cat should come back

  7. If that can't hasn't been fixed it could be awhile before it comes back but if nobody is feed the cat it will get hungry and should return? Cats aren't as big about returning to old locations as dogs are and is probably just wondering the neighborhood?

  8. Put up posters, check with animal pound, look through the neighbour hood. Put food out for him and water. Try to call him. Also do the same in your old neighbour hood. Look for him as soon as possible the longer you wait the farther away he can go. But get someone to wait at your new home with food in case he does come back there when you are gone. ie. he comes back you aren't there and he decides to leave because you are gone.

  9. Cats always come back when they run away. But if it won't return you better check around your old place. You know, to make cats get used to a new place, there's a custom in my country to take them 3 times around the new house. And it works!

Keep looking for him and good luck!

  10. when we first moved into our house the people that used to live here had a cat and they took him to their new house and he came back here and he kept coming back so they let us have the cat so look at your old house and ask they people that live there now if they have seen him recently.

  11. yes,they often go back,just keep looking,you never know...

  12. I just moved to my house 3 months ago and my cat had never been outside before. So he didnt come back and we were so upset we put pictures of him everywhere and finally we saw him in our yard but he ran frome us. and we saw him multiple times in the woods and our yard but he just kept running....so we gave up. my mother said that when he gets hungry enough he'll come back. so two months went buy and finaly he came to me. it took a while but with him being so hungry and scared he jus gave up his wild ways. so now he acts as if he never left and dosent try to go back outside.''ADVICE''- Someone told me that putting some of your dirty clothes outside....food.... there used cat litter... its suppose to help attract them. im very sorry and i hope your cat comes back home.

  13. how far away did you move? if it is a ways then wait a day or two and go check your old house, and keep checking daily but in the mean time call all the shelters and put up flyers, and let everyone know that lives by your old house, to watch for him,
