My Cat has Eye Infection & Scabs Around the Mouth -HELP!

I have taken my cat to the vet 5 times the past 2 months. They all seem to tell me different things every time I bring my cat in. My cat has been given different anti-biotic and medication but nothing seems to be working and my cat is getting worst. My cat has a horrible eye infection in one eye and the hair around it is going bald. There is brown fluid coming out and her eye is swollen. My cat also has black scabs forming all over her mouth and under her chin. It only seems to be getting worse as the days go by. One vet said that she has anxiety and needs to be on prozac. Is this possible? Any other suggestions on what it could be and how to treat it?

  1. My cat had something like the eye thing wear it was closed shut with puss and stuff in it, it went away. he also has a scab under his chin.....i need to kno wwhat up witht he scabs

  2. Sounds like you need to change your choice of vet surgery to me, they sound really incompetent! Its wrong for your cat to be treated like this, you need to see one good vet to treat your cats condition. Theres lack of communication between the vets ur at.

  3. Hmmm... Let me check some sources, if i can't edit this question I'll email you my answer okay? It sounds pretty bad, though, and i don't think it's anxiety.

EDIT:I've almost got the diagnosis hold on.

EDIT:Okay it seems that your cat has conjunctivitis, and acne (yes, cat acne.) Take her to a GOOD, emergency vet clinic if she begins breathing abnormally, has a change in eating habits, or anything else that worries you. Call the vet that you got her declawed, spayed, shots done, etc.  and tell them the conditions. I can't help you with the treatments, as i'm not a liscensed vet and i don't want to be sued...

But I have one recomendation: use only ONE vetranary clininc, it gets too confusing. Switch if the vet techs are unsatisfactory, but otherwise, stick to one at a time.

    Good luck!
