  1. That`s how my pets are!  Your pet is just going through a phase.  One minute, they will want your attention 24/7 and the next, they`ll want nothing to do with you.  Maybe when she is sleeping, you could go up to her and pet her.  My cat always purrs whenever I do that.  The purring doesn`t last long, but it`s better than nothing.

  2. My cat hates everyone but me. i've tried to get him to like everybody else, but he is to frightened. Now he hisses and growls, but he never will attack. I've tried everything, but i think it is just how my cat is. He especially hates male humans. Maybe you should try not to pick it up, and give it treats and slowly you cat may change and start to like everyone.

  3. I had this same problem!!

I think the reason she might like your mom more is that it might be able to sense some kind of motherly attitude coming from your mom.

  4. I don't have enough info to help too much. Was she always like this or did it start recently? Is she always friendly to your mom or does she sometimes spit at her too? Any other pets in the house? Does she ever go outdoors or is she indoors only (they live a lot longer if they don't go outside).

Our cat was very sociable until we had our basement finished. The noise, strangers, dust and general hubbub left her anti-social and losing her favorite hiding places in the unfinished areas didn't help. Now she even hisses at kids she's known for years and will try to bite if they corner her to try to pet her. There's nothing we can do about it other than to give her someplace to retreat to when company visits, which was our vet's only advice. It's been years and it's only gotten a little better, now she will tolerate them in the same room as long as she doesn't have to look at them or be touched by them.

  5. Completely ignore her for a day. I mean, acknowledge & feed her, but otherwise leave her alone. If you do this, she'll probably come to you.

Remember, cats can be weird. One minute she'll love you, the next she'll just want her own space.

  6. That is the same here. For my cats you have to ignore them for like a day and give them their food. After that my cat really wants to jump on top of me. I don't know if it will work for you but it always has worked with me.
