She is 6 months old and we've had her about 5 days. When inside the house [she wont growl outside, though she will avoid them] she will get so vicious. She has tried to bite my friend a few times and she does throw a fit when hes around ESPECIALLY if he goes on my bed [where she spends 90% of her time but its mine!!]. She is being possesive of me [she follows me around the house and such, she whines if we're not literally touching] and i really don't know what to do.

  1. She thinks she is the boss/leader of the house and of you.

You need to establish yourself as the dominant leader/boss.

You're right about being possessive, and it literally means that.  She thinks that you are her property and that she has to guard and protect you and prevent others from trying to claim you.

She should not be allowed on your bed.  She is possessing that too.

She should not be allowed on your lap.  Keep her at your side instead.  Being on your lap (on top of you) gives her dominance over/ownership of you.

Don't feed her anything by hand.  At the very least throw it to her.  You feeding her is another signal that you are subordinate to her.  A dominant leader/boss dog would not feed their subordinates, instead they would only allow them to have their scraps, after they've finished eating.

When your friend comes over, hold her down by her neck, onto her back or side.  Then let your friend move in.  Don't let her fight her way out of your grip and use a firm "NO" when she tries.  Once she calms down, let your friend take over holding her down until she submits to him/her.

You might think that these rules are not "nice" for your dog, but in the long run your dog will appreciate having clear boundaries/roles.  Otherwise she is always going to be confused about who is leader and what she is supposed to do.

Plus, you'll never be able to have anyone over. . . and on your bed! ;)

  2. its in thier nature because they are such small dogs they find that everything bigger then them is a threat and also they try to be the boss around other dogs
