  1. About $4-8. They would last about 2 months. (The bag of food,  not the chinchilla)

    Hope this helped=) Good luck!

  2. I would suggest 1 to 2 heaping tablespoons of pellets per day per chinchilla so I guess 3 lbs would be almost 2 months worth.

  3. It depends on the type of food you buy. If you are buying chinchilla pellets feed 1 and a half tablespoon once daily. It should last you about 1 1/2 - 2 months. If you are feeding a diet that contains treats you will need to feed 2 - 2 1/2 tablespoon so it will only last a little over a month. The diet you chinchilla is on is extremely important. I recommend looking at the back of the bag and making sure it contains no less then 16% crude fiber, a min of no less then 15% crude protein, no more then 1 % salt, and no more then 3 % crude fat. Also make sure the first ingredient is alfalfa meal. Also along with the pellets feed 1 teaspoon rolled oats, unlimited timothy hay, and a few raisins or a vitakraft dandelion drop as treats.

Chinchilla checklist of things you will need

a  large cage with multiple shelves The cage cannot be made of plastic

( plastic can kill chins if ingested )

    food dish

    water bottle made of glass

    hay dish

    dust bath house

    chinchilla dust

wood chews ( mine like bark bites )

a wood house to hide in

A hammock to sleep and play in

either a flying saucer wheel or mesh large wheel

A tunnel to hop and play on

Bedding make sure its not cedar ( cedar is very dangerous to chinchillas)

    timothy hay

    chinchilla pellets

    a book on chinchillas

    and don't forget the treats

I hope this helps please feel free to email me with any questions you may have

  4. It should last about two months.

And you'll need a few hundred dollars to get everything for a chinchilla and continue buying food, bedding, hay, sand, toys, etc, etc throughout the years.
