My Chinchilla put My Cat in an Arm Bar?

How do I get this feud to end? This morning I really thought Marvin, the chinchilla, was going to break Tom's, the cat, arm (leg).

Any advice on how to make my cat and chinchilla pals?

Either Tom is a p***y or Marvin is a mutant rodent; I'm sure each would deem their monikers as insults, though one must be true!  My domestic feline would simply murder the chinchilla, he feels it proper to bring home whole ivicerated rabbits when I let him roam the countryside.  Then again he fears my cell phone ring tone so Marvin's vocalizations might send him under the coach.  I would recomend building Tom some sort of body armor.  I have found that a cardboard 12 pack of Busch Lite can be converted into a sort of plate mail for a feline.  With some time they might get used to it.  Tom needs some encouragement, surely he has the faculties to defend himself, you might bring up his pacifist tendencies and try to convince him that he has the right to defend himself.  Or perhaps sweater would deter the rodent if it was in a power color, like a nice red Christmas garmet, perhaps not made of ermin....
