I recently moved into a newer house. My old house had a 3 prong dryer power outlet. My new house has a 4 prong outlet. So I went and bought a new power cord, and replaced it, as far as I can tell i did it correctly. But now my dryer won't heat. My dryer is a whirlpool Model# LER3624PQ1

  1. YOUR HEATING ELEMENT COULD HAVE GONE BAD DEPENDS ON WHAT MODLE AND WHERE YOU GO TO GET THEM SHOULDNT BE TO HIGH AND YES YOU CAN HAVE THEM TESTED TO SEE IF THAT'S WHAT IT IS GONE BAD GOOD LUCK

  2. Your new dryer should have come with instructions and a trouble shooting guide but I suppose they are long gone, if the new house isn't brand new?

You could contact Whirlpool Customer Service and see if the offer help, or see if they have a help site on-line.

Or try the people who work at Home Depot or Lowes or those type of places.

Of course, it could be a co-inky-dink that the power cord didn't work and now the heating element is dead.  Could be 2 different issues.  The dryer has power w/the new cord, right?  Could be the element.

idk, but I wish you good luck!

  3. my LG did that like 2 months ago. it turned on and functioned and all but it didnt heat. i got it fixed and the guy said that lint was stuck in it or something because i forgot to remove it from the little screen thing
