Question:

My Cockatiel does something to my face.

I have a male Cockatiel who does the strangest things to my face, if i put my face near his cage he will come up and will attempt to pick out my eyebrows, my eyelashes and my nose hair and some sometimes picks my spots why does he do this?

  1. He loves you. He treats your hairs as feathers and is trying to preen you. This is a sign that he is affectionate towards you.


  2. That is basically him trying to clean you up! When birds feel affectionate towards each other they help each other get clean. (pick the bugs out of each others feathers). He is just showing you a little love and trying to get what he thinks is dirt off of your face.

  3. Oh sounds like he is giving you some love in trying to preen you. I always get goosebumps when minne does that it is so sweet. Sounds like your cockatiel is happy. He does with affection showing you so love.
