My Comcast DVR deletes certain shows after I watch them a few times. Is there a setting I need to change?

It happens if I watch an epsiode of a show multiple times. I'll go look for it and it's gone. Why could cause this to happen? These are not OnDemand or Pay Per View shows, just regular TV shows.

  1. This will happen as you say because when you set a program to record, you will get a menu with "record", "save" and "save until" on it in the top right hand corner.  With "record" you can toggle between only recording new episodes, repeat episodes or repeat episodes with duplicates in that series.  Under save, you can save up to a certain amount of episodes or you can save all episodes.  And under "save until" you can toggle it between "space is needed" or "I delete".

Apparently, what you have unwittingly done, is set the recording of the shows that you have recorded and watched under the wrong settings and need to go back in and correct your settings accordlingly.  If you want to keep all episodes, then use the "save" yellow menu bar item and toggle to that option.

It's not really that confusing.  Play with it a while and experiment with some stupid programs you would never watch and you'll get the hang of it.

  2. when you goto record it you can save the last 1 2 3  4 etc... episodes set to save all (*v*)
