Okay, so I clicked on a link to watch a video online and 35 popups popped up...i dunno if there was a virus in those but now only a few links on my computer are working, i.e. internet and stuff...But I can't open ANYTHING. It just has a little loading symbol then resets. It's really really annoying, and I can't delete any files that might be in my computer because when I open Documents or ANYTHING! Nothing shows up! It says I have 1276 files but its a blank screen as if I had nothing there. I need help! Please.

  1. Boot you computer into safe mode by pressing f8 at boot up. Install MalwareBytes Anti-malware and run a full scan. Remove all items found. Reboot into normal windows, update MalwareBytes and run another full scan and remove all found. Download and run CCleaner and fix the registry.

    Good luck.

  2. You can try using the System Restore program.

If you're using XP, click the Start button and navigate to 'My Programs | Accessories | System Tools' and you'll find the icon there.  Run the program and click the 'Help' link to find out more about the program.

If you don't have any restore points to go back to, then you'll have to do a Windows 'repair' installation.  Installing Windows normally wipes out your account and all your settings, but a 'repair' installation just fixes all the system files and registry entries.  You'll have to re-install all the hardware drivers and maybe some programs though.

  3. Restart your computer, when you see your screen, press F8,choose last known good configuration and click enter on your keyboard.
