ok, here is the problem, i built this computer myslef and it has worked well. Now when i turn my computer on it doesn't beep. my computer would normally beep when turned on.

now i ran the "memory diagnostic tool" in Vista and no issues, my computer reads/finds all 4GB of ram, and it seems my computer is running ok. Also checked CPU-Z and my CPU is running at correct speed.

But why would it fail to beep if it seems to run well

  1. The beeps simply tell you if the machine has passed the POST with no issues or not. If it beeps strangely (e.g. 2 long beeps followed by a short beep) then it would be something to worry about. The fact that it is not beeping will be an indication that there is no issues. The beep you previously had will have been an "everything is OK" beep. However, if you are still in doubt, refer to your motherboard documentation - this should give you details on what each beep sequence indicates.

    Don't worry :)

  2. there is a beep coding to computer.. you should check it out...

sry that's all i can help you with... (check link..)

also check if your beep sound thingy is working (pull out your keyboard plug)

  3. from wat ive learnt beeping means theres an error in the startup

  4. It's a small cable that comes from your power supply and it has a 4 pins socket. On the socket I think it's wrote "Speaker" :-? and it must be plugged on the motherboard. Check the manuals of the MB to see where you have to plug that cable.

It should looks like this: http://www.rhyshaden.com/images/intspkr....

  5. if your Windows Booted and run up and you can use them your case speaker is down, check your case speaker.

  6. Don't worry about it. If it works and it's stable a beep is a small sacrifice.

Strangely, mine never used to beep but ever since the last rebuild it has. No difference in performance.

  7. No beeps is good.

  8. Maybe the circuitry that generates the beep is not functioning correctly. Have a look in Device Manager and check the audio devices. Or perhaps the function is disabled in BIOS.

  9. Is the system speaker hooked up correctly? Does it have one? (this is a small speaker located in the case and hooks up to the motherboard)

Not a big deal though, if it's running, it's running.
