My Computer?? PLEASE answer?

Question

Okay, my computer won't open the internet browser, or anything in my documents. It will only open Sims 2, windows movie maker, and other games on my computer. I'm not sure why, and it will not let me shut down or restart my computer properly. What can I do to fix this?

Please help me..

Oh, and when I try to restart or shut down my computer it has that thing that counts down and has the option to end now, and when I click that it says an error has occured and nothing happens,

MY COMPUTER IS A LAPTOP.

A reboot will likely help this out.  So, to reboot: push and hold the power button for 15 seconds.  This is called a hard shutdown, and should only be done when necessary.  After you boot back up, you will probably be okay.  Good luck.

I'm pretty sure that you have a virus or got hacked.  Take it into best buy or circuit city to have them look at it.  If you don't want to do that buy something that will do that for you like Norton antivirus and Webroot spy sweeper.

Bring Up the task manager by hold ctrl alt and delete all at the same time and the the program or process that has not responding beside it if there it one, if that doesn't work then you might need to take the chance and proceed with a hard shutdown like the person above mentioned

if you need to shut down your computer, you can hold your power button for a couple of seconds and that will do.

Run a scan with your antivirus and antispyware. My documents opens using internet explorer. Try reinstalling internet explorer or installing Mozilla firefox. (Download it on the computer you used to post this and then transfer using a flash drive.)

Your laptop might have virus or some sort of malware. Try using a virus scan (if you dont have one, google for it - there are free ones out there) and use spybot search&destroy to kill the malware.

If it's not the case of virus or malware, then some internet files may have been deleted. Try uninstall the browser and reinstall it. If it still not work, try use firefox.
