My Computer isn't recognizing my Sims 2 Apartment Life CD?

I'm having trouble installing my Sims 2 Apartment Life Disc. I tried restarting my computer and everything but it's just not working. And you know how when you put a disc in and your computer makes all those noises like it's analyzing the disc? Well my computers not doing that for this disc but when I put my other sims 2 disc in, it worked just fine.

What should i do?

Is the Sims 2 disc DVD and your drive only CD? if so it wont work.

I am having the same problem and now it won't recognize my Freetime disk either.  I'm running XP.  There are a lot of people having the same problem installing Apartment Life.  Go to https://easims.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/easi... and file a report to Sims2 Technical Support.  If they receive a lot of complaints about this issue they will fix it faster.  Good luck!

Open My Computer, (if XP) or Computer (if Vista). Now open you CD drive folder (The D:/ drive id XP and E:/ drive if Vista.) There should be a file Named setup or setup.exe, open that file. This should launch the setup wizard.

It may be the software,

So for instance it might work on X,P but not on Vista.

That happened to me :(
