My D-Link wireless needs to be restarted every half hour?

I don't know what it up with it, but I need to restart it every half hour or so to remain browsing. It's a D-link wireless, which is hooked up to dsl and a desktop computer by a cord.

I'll provide any additional details that I haven't put if you ask, but because the dsl is on another floor of where I live, having to go down and restart is every half hour is a hassle I really don't like.

THANK YOU SO MUCH and i appreciate any stars you give me so I can find out how to fix this!

  1. OK- I think you're saying the DSL modem and D-Link router are on another floor with a computer connected to them both, and you are using a wireless connection to your laptop(?) computer and you are having trouble.

Is the other computer having trouble also, or is it just the wireless connection that goes away for you?

Are you using cordless telephones in the house, near either your computer or the D-Link router?

Since you say it fails every half hour OR SO, my guess is that the problem is just interference killing the wireless connection. Until you locate the source of the interference, it won't get any better.

  2. Try putting the DSL, closer to your computer, or vice versa.
