My DTV signal is weak. What should I do?

I have the DTX9900 DTV and when I hooked it up, it says the signal is weak. It wont pick up any channels. First things first, I DO NOT have a old TV with an antenna. I hooked it up correctly and triple checked to make sure everything is hooked up properly but it still says no signal. What should I do? Does it have to do with my household signal because one thing i noticed is we cannot get wireless internet at this house.

  1. First off, the ability to get wireless internet has nothing to do w/ your ability to get a TV broadcast signal. Two different systems, two different infrastructures.

What might be a factor could be where you live. If you live in an area filled with high rise buildings, you're probably suffering from multipath fading. That is, your signals are coming in shaky.

If your analog signals are coming in snowy or shaky, very likely you'll have great problems getting the digital ones. You have a few options: get an amplified indoor antenna, install an outdoor one, or sign up for cable/satellite.

  2. Look into a dtv booster. I have heard these help.
