My DVD drive is reading some movie dvds. Why?

My Sony DVD drive is not reading some movie dvds. I just shows it as an empty CD. Please help me.

  1. Can only be a few things obvious one is DVD drive needs cleaning or is faulty, software issues almost impossable to tell without seeing your pc, or as I presume these discs are copied may not like thats brand of CD or DVD
