I have a Samsung 32 inch LCD model LNT 3253H. Itis a 720 format. I was just told that for Blu-Ray, you should have a 1210 format? Is Blu-Ray still an option?

  1. Blu-ray; you should invest in the future...the technology is great.

  2. i think there are dvds player now that play dvd and hd dvd and blue ray take that

  3. blu-ray the quality is great and most blu-ray players will make your standard dvd's look better

  4. You can use a Blu-Ray Player but your TV will not take full advantage of the HD. You can get a cheap 1080P TV from www.consumerdepot.com if you want to upgrade

  5. Hmm. $29 DVD vs. a $250+ Blu-Ray.

If you think Blu-Ray is $200+ better, get one. If DVD is cool, stick with it.

  6. That depends on two things.

Can you afford the cheapest available Blu-Ray Player on the market now? (~$400).

Do you have a 1080p capable TV that would really shine with Blu-Ray content?

  7. I would definitely go with Blu-Ray.  This actually just happened to me a few months ago, and I went with a Blu-Ray player.

Here's why.........you are going to end up getting a Blu-Ray player eventually anyway, since you are sort of considering it now.  So why wait, just get one now.  It's better than dropping a 100 bucks on a normal DVD player.  Blu-Ray players are just amazing and you will be more than amazed with the picture.  PLUS...Blu-Ray players up-convert your current non-Blu-Ray discs and they end up looking much better.  They don't end up looking like Blu-Ray discs do obviously, but they get upconverted quite nicely, I was very surprised at the difference.  Blu-Ray players have gone down in price a little bit and now you can get a really good one from Panasonic or Sony for 300-400 dollars.  I know that's a big difference than spending 100 dollars on a regular one, but it definitley worth the extra money!  Good luck with whatever you choose!

  8. blu-ray they will last longer and work better because they are newer.. and they will be in for much longer :)

  9. Depends if you have an HDTV or not.  If you do have a TV that supports at least 720p then you should go for Blu_Ray.  If you have a TV that doesn't support at least 720p just get a regular DVD player.  I would also recommend you getting a upconversion Blu-Ray player that lets you play regular DVD's and upscales them to High Definition.  You also might want to consider getting a Playstation 3 because they play Blu-Ray discs and it is a game console as well for only $399 when you can get just Blu-Ray players for twice that.

  10. I would go with Blu-Ray, as it's better quality, it is becoming to DVD, what DVD was to VHS.

The only downside is not many movies are in Blu-Ray yet, give it time.

  11. U should get blue ray. It might cost more, but it is so worth it!

  12. Your best bet is a blueray.. even though it might be expensive.. your gnna end up getting one.. just thinka head and get that.. instead of wasting money on another dvd player that you probably wont use after a while.

    i'd get a blu-ray

  13. Well if you wanted to get a blu-ray dvd player you should get a ps3 instead. PS3's play regular and blu-ray dvds. It's a really good investment. That's what my parents did. And a PS# cost's just as much as a blu-ray

  14. get a ps3, the lowest gig possible. its blu ray and gaming. 2 in 1 and more money in your pockets then buying separate. i know you asked for blu ray only, but they average about 300 to 400. same price as a ps3 and you can play games and still watch your regular dvds aswell

  15. At this point, I'd go pick up a 5 dollar DVD player at the corner store and wait for the next crop of better, cheaper, bluray players to come out before the holidays.

  16. Blu Ray all the way but if you want to get an extra kick buy a PS3

then you can play games not spending much more.
