My DVD player won't play my European DVD's !?

Hi ! I moved from Europe to the States a while back, and brought a few of my DVD's. When I was trying to watch them here, our DVD player just wouldn't accept them, so I decided to just watch them on my computer, but Windows Media Player asked me to choose a zone. It worked for a while, but now it's broken :-) Does anyone know if there's DVD players that would play American and Euoropean DVD's, and if they're expensive or not? Thank you very much !

a cheap option would be to buy an action replay disc for a console that plays DVD's
