  1. Your dvd player is probably not compatible with DVD-R, unfortunately if you really want to watch them on the dvd player you might have to buy a new one that is compatible or else watch them on your computer or at a friends house that have a compatible dvd player.

  2. Some dvd players only play certain types of video files. They will all play the standard sort of file as is used by dvd's you rent. Software is required to change the video that you have downloaded into this format. If you have done this, then your player is probably not capable of playing burned disks. Sometimes a particular brand of dvdr disks has trouble playing in certain machines.

  3. your dvd cannot play DVD R s simple some dont.........cheap ones usually do ironically..........

  4. its probably the file type

  5. well maybe ur dvd player has no sytem that supported dvd-r.. u should check the information first if the dvd player is new.. but mostly because of the dvd-r has big size of bite.. my friend had the same prob same as u.. i've burn the smallville series into dvd-r and send it to my friend and he complain cannot play the movie.... but after a week, his dvd player can accept the dvd-r.. i dunno how..

  6. you suck with computers. that's it

  7. Not all DVD players can play burned material.  Try playing the DVD's on your computer or on a friends DVD player.  If it works on them, then the problem is your DVD player and not you.

I had the same problem with my DVD player.  It cant play burnt content.

  8. Some dvd players cant play burned dvd cds

  9. They don't all play copies

  10. Are you converting the movie from avi/divx/xvid etc into a dvd movie (mpeg2 format)

If you are simply taking the downloaded movie, burning it onto a data disc, then trying to play this on your dvd player, this wont happen unless your dvd player supports avi/divx playback.

The reason it works on the pc is that the codecs to allow playback are already installed.

If this seems like the problem...look to use something like Nero Vision,  Convert2dvd etc... to burn to correct format.  This will usually take 1-2 hours to re-code on a decent spec pc

    hope this helps

  11. There's a possibility that your DVD player doesn't support DVD written by a PC. Some brand makes a player that only able to play an original DVD or DVD made by certain region.

  12. It may be able to only play non-pirated stuff

The PC DVD may be a DVD-R

    Simply an incompatibility problem.

Sometimes discs burnt on Vista also wont play!

  13. you may need a newer dvd player. Some older dvd players can't read newer disks.
