My Dad Passed Away About Three Weeks Ago. The Night That It Happened We Had A Few Of His Friends Stay At House, So That Nobody Would Break In. Now We Can't Find His Credit Cards Anywhere...We Don't Want To Call And Report Fraud Because They Were Always So Close To My Dad...My Question I Guess Is, If Nobody Reports Fraud Is It Possible For The Credit Card Company To Just Know The Credit Card Is Being Using In Fraud And Then Press Charges Or Would We Have To Call Them And Tell Them My Father Is Deceased And That We Believe Someone Is Using His Credit Card.

  1. Phone up the issuing bank send them the death cerificate and then they can sort it out and also cancel the cards.

I would also phone the police if the cards have been used.

  2. Have the credit cards canceled and explain what has happened.  The company will want you to send a copy of the death certificate to them.

  3. Sorry for your loss. I can't imagine that your friends would be so callous as to steal your dad's cards. In any event, since you can't find them just call and report them as lost or stolen, either one will do.

They may ask for a copy of the death certificate to prove that it wasn't him. You don't have to say who you think it is, so his friends will never have to know you called even if they were the ones who took it.

  4. Call and tell them your father has passed.. They will cancle the cards...

  5. call the credit card company immediately and give the date he died and have them terminate the acct - find out what if anything was charged after that date and if you can figure out who did it - report them to the police
