My Dad...? *Sorry it's long!*?

Okay so, I feel like a total brat right now.

My dad bought me a camera off of ebay, but it never got here. He contacted the seller and it was backordered, the seller being a company. So he asked for a refund and got one. We went back online and got another camera. I needed it by tomorrow for a concert. It did not get here today, so he bought me a small one for $20 from K-Mart, just for the concert.

I opened it and saw it had no screen and (ever so stupidly!) made a remark about how hard it would be to take a picture.

So he got mad. Well, then he said he'd get me one from Wal-Mart on the way to Charlotte and sell the second one from Ebay.

I went out to apologize about my remark and how it was my fault and everything. And he started crying and told me he felt he had dissapointed me.

I love my Daddy more than anything, and hate to see him like this. How can I reassure him he's done MORE than enough?

tell him he hasnt disappointed you, and tell him it was your fault (even if it wasnt)

Just tell him that you love him more than any camera and his thought and caring so much to get it meant so much more than the camera its self. Tell him that you love him and than you really where just frustrated at how difficult it was to find a desent camera and that he misunderstood it as a remark t ohim when really your where mad at all the companies.

Take him out to dinner or something if you have money.  Or don't go to the concert, and spend the evening with him.  Most concert pictures aren't that good, anyway, no matter how good the camera is, unless you are a professional photographer.

The camera may still come tomorrow...

Okay - take him his favorite beverage and snack, then tell him you are very sorry, that you were just frustrated over the situation (just like he is) - not upset with him or being un-grateful and that you feel HORRIBLE!!!  He will understand.  I am sure that is why he was so upset.  He was trying to do something nice and it turned into c**p!  Tell him that you realize that he is the BEST DAD EVER and that no one else would do as much for you as he has.  Then give him a big hug and kiss and ask your mom to take a picture of you two together!  Just an apology and your love and support will make him feel better...  Sometimes it's tough being a parent, but you sound like you already see that - GOOD FOR YOU!!

Well, even though I knew where this was going, I had to laugh about the "it has no screen, how can I take a picture?"

Your dad must be a lot younger then me, there was a time not so long ago when people didn't have screens on their cameras.

But what you have now is a communications crisis.  Talk to you dad, maybe have him read your question.  You both love each other, and right now you both are feeling bad about making the other feel bad.  You'll both be a lot happier when you realize it was just a misunderstanding.

uhm, and they don't let cameras into concerts....

Maybe if you sit down and write him a card , with everything  nice you have wanted to say and never have said to his face. Be prepared for more tears, parents just love to be appreciated and loved by their kids.

I have all the cards my kids have made me since they were little. I cherish them.

he obviously loves his little girl very much and wants every moment of her life to be perfect.

just tell him how happy you are he is your dad

make it from the heart.

just saying it isnt a very good thing.

make sure you tell him in the words that come from your heart.

as cheesy as that sounds.

Tell him you dont need a knew camera just use the one you got. Unless you insist on getting a new one. He tried his hardest  to please you. And you turned it down. I think you should apoligize to him and tell him you dont want a new camera from walmart the k-mart one is fine.
