My Dad who passed away? :(?

okay my dad past away in august around the 9th and he got social security check for is disabilities and i got some too? well since he passed on they said i get some or all of his check that he use to get well i wonder how long does it take to process the forms are on the way...i am 16 can or has anyone been threw or know what i am talking about please only serious answers thank you and i appreciate it... AGAIN I LIVE IN NEW MEXICO WOULD I GET AS MUCH AS HE DOES OR DID PLEASE LET ME KNOW OKAY I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE IT A LOT GOD BLESS give a lot of details if you can thank you

I've been fight with social security for 20 months now and I'm still waiting. I had 2 different types of cancer and after chemotherapy and 2 surgeries, it has left me with side effects that I'm unable to work. Contact SS office and ask for a case worker and if they can help you with the forms. Your a minor of someone who was already on SSI and you shouldn't have to wait as long as I have. You'll get SS till your 18, unless you go to college, then you'll get it for a longer time. I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your father and I hope your dealing ith everything OK. It's a hard thing for anyone to go through and I'm glad that your looking out for yourself. If you can, save as much of this money from your Dad as possible. It's always a good thing to do and you'll never going to know when you'll need it. I knew a girl who's dad died just a few months ago. He left her a Millon dollars and she has spent every fricken penny of it and has nothing to show for it all. Honor and respect your father by not blowing it all away on stupid ****. I can relate maybe just a little because my dad died before i was born but when i turn 17 i started receiving a monthly Social Security Check for about 400 dollars a month for about two years until i graduated high school.  My mother i'm taking had to file all the paperwork proving that ii was his daughter since he was died at the time of my birth.  But i do believe that since his death your benefits should go up.
