My Daughter is 11 and wants to shave-Nair her legs!!! I say NO...Help?

My daughter is in 5th Grade about to go to the 6th. All the girls in her class shave or Nair. So she wants to shave or Nair. I told her NO. Wha should I do??? I tell her No because she is too young for that right now...But she gets so upset to where she starts to cry. What should i do?? n e advice?

im 11 and im not allowed to shave. i can usee nair in the bikini area and  underarms but my mom wont let me do it on my likes. i think at age 11 she should use nair. and like when she 12 or 13 she can use a razor and shave. trust me. im still trying to let my mom shave my legs. now a days peoople laugh at you. its not like she wants to grow up to fast. im sure she just wants the hair off just like me. Let her use nair on her legs. im wearing pants. ill be 12 soon and thats when im going to ask my mom and i have wayss to convince her.my friend has the same issue . & ivee had my period too.

Well, if she is feeling self conscious about her legs, then why not let her shave them- at least that saves her getting teased about them! Also, it will make her feel better, and more trusted by you! It isn't like she's asking for a tattoo, or anything permanate is it!

I would let her do nair first then wen shes 13 let her start shaving thats the way to go

If she actually does have hair on her legs, then let her shave or use Nair.  My mom didn't let me shave at all even during high school!  Fortunately, I have fine hair, but even then, I never wore shorts or skirts because I was so self-conscious all the time.  

If you can afford it, take her to a professional to have her legs waxed.  That way the hair will grow back finer and take longer to grow back.  Have her take an ibuprofen an hour before the waxing to reduce the pain.

That is a question that comes up with a lot of pre-teen girls. Remember that telling her no does not make you a bad person... even if she cries. Just imagine in 8 years when she wishses she didn't have to shave her legs, you can remind her how badly she wanted to do it when she was in 5th grade!

On the other hand, you have to worry about her just trying to do it herself behind your back so if you say no keep an eye on them razors or she'll really be crying when shes all nicked up.

i'm 13 and when i asked to shave mum asked me why to make sure it wasnt just a craze . i tryed shaving but i found i liked nair better it lasts longer and i didnt hurt myself

I'm 11 years old and I shave my legs. At my school if you don't shave you get teased ALOT! Anyway let her shave her legs better have her learn how to do it today then 15 years from now. And it's not like the hair won't grow back.

yes let her shave or nair her legs. i think nair is lettle better but in 70's it to use hurt nair but now it works good . i do my legs once a week and it alot better then cuts one the legs . so as my kid tells me get with mom you so out date :)

You should let her do this. You should even be showing her how. Who can a girl turn to if not her Mom??? She is NOT to young. Is it possible Mom is fearing that her little girl is growing up and might not need her anymore? If YOU don't helo her, she will become secretive, and that is NOT something you want.
