I just got braces like a day ago...(only top braces for now)

and an hour after i got it, one of my front teeth started hurting , it felt like it was being pressured down.

Now I know theres supposed to be discomfort, but i was just wondering since its my first time...is there something wrong?

  1. It is fine it means your teeth are moving. The pain will go away in a couple of days. Everyone that has braces feels that pain. I have experienced that. I have to go back monday for bottom braces. Good Luck!

  2. nope. its normal

  3. Your'e fine....teeth are moving and you will feel this from time to time.....

  4. While the braces are being put on, it doesn't usually hurt. But a couple or so hours after you get them on, it does start hurting quite a bit. It's perfectly normal. People usually eat soft foods only for the first week or so they've had their braces on. All I can suggest from experience is to take pain killers.

  5. Your teeth are moving and that is why they hurt. You will likely continue to feel pressure on your teeth for a few more days and then you'll notice it again when you go back for Orthodontic check ups when they tighten them.

If it really bothers you, take some ibuprofen and try not to eat hard foods like apples.

  6. No, just take some mild pain killers.

maybe some ora gel or something

but you sound fine..Theres gonna be a lot of discomfort to come.

    Braces are not fun.

Eat soup or little easy to chew things.

no gum, or anything hard to bite on.

and if they bother your inside cheek area, ask your dentist for brace wax or dental wax. they'll tell you how to use it.

Make the best out of your braces, they're worth it :)

  7. I have the same exact thing. Just this one tooth felt like it was going down, and it hurt soo bad. Then it spread to my other teeth. So its just your teeth moving.

  8. I had braces when I was younger. It is normal for them to feel hurt because the braces are putting a lot of pressure on your teeth. You will feel this discomfort for a few weeks.

Also, every time you get them tightened they will be sore for at least a day.

If the pain becomes unbearable, ask your dentist if you can take a pain killer. Otherwise you will have to tough it out.
