My 3mth old dobie ripped the bottom half of her stitches out--she just got her ears cropped. I have an appointment tomorrow at 11, is there anything I can do till then?? Is this a pretty minor thing?

  1. Hello!?

Maybe get the dog to a vet???

    That is very VERY painful.

Thats why i never recommend cropping a dogs ears.

    Its painful and not right.

    My answer VET now.

ADD- There are 24/7 vets??? right.

if my dog rip its stitches out,

i wouldn't care what i was doing id take my dog straight  away.

  2. Is her ear bleeding? If so you could get her an e-collar from petsmart or petco to keep her from scratching at them. And, you can use a sock or wrap of somesort to try to cover her ears by wrapping it around the ear. If they're not bleeding she should be ok until tomorrow. Just try to keep her from doing anymore damage.

  3. Ouch.. You have to keep her nails short so she can't scratch her ears at all until they are standing. Some people put a sock on their foot so that they can't scratch their ears. It seems that the whole thing is very irritating, especially the stitches as things start to heal.

If it isn't bleeding, and it's not all tore open, which I am guessing that it's not, or you would have mentioned that the ears were wide open. Keep her from scratching them and take her in tomorrow to the vet.

If they are all opened and you can see the cartilage, then you should get her in there and get them restitched.

  4. well when did you get the ears cropped?

if its been over a week then they'll probably just go ahead and take out all the stitches. i doubt they will put more in, more than likely they will tape them up for you.

dogs are so much fun: she didnt ask if you would recommend it, cropping ears is not cruel.
