His Tattoo came with him when he was adopted and the Humane Society didn't know why he had the Tattoo.

It is on his inner thigh on his right back leg about 2 inches x 2 inches The Tattoo is done with Blue/black ink and has a backward number 4 and a 0 with a slash mark across it.

My Dog was a "rescue dog" that I adopted from the Michigan Humane Society 5 years ago. At the time of the adoption he was 1 year old and very well trained. He is a Mix - German Shepard, Chow , Collie - a Wolf like German shepard - long hair.

He is a great family dog, very athletic and a great watch dog. He's a very quick learner and takes commands extremely well.

Thing is,

He seems to be keenly aware of people and their character ( good and bad). One time he even helped corner a guy the police were looking for, when I was out in the front yard with him and the guy was just walking down the street. He had been with me in the yard for hours and didn't bother with anyone else.

Anyways,

any idea what the TATTOO may mean ?
