Is there such a thing as an extension cord for a 3 wire plug Dryer cord? I really don't want to have to move the entire shelf to use the dryer. Any ideas or alternatives would be appreciated.

  1. You could buy a 6 foot dryer  cord and a dryer receptacle. Put the 2 together and you have a 6 foot long dryer extension cord.

  2. Yes, you can assemble an extension cord. A good home improvement store can sell you the parts or an electrical supply store with off the shelf parts. Obviously you must monitor the extension but if properly assembled it should last the life of the dryer.

  3. dryer cord has 3 screws holding it on. remove it and buy a longer one.

  4. I wouldn't use an extension for a Dryer.  Instead chisel/cut out a space around/in the shelf just big enough for the plug to fit.
