  1. Two things, have you recently changed her food brand (if so swap back to the old brad) or has she been stressed out in some way? (making hamsters stressed can affect them very badly and they can begin to shut down and stop eating, etc). Keep an eye on her and if she doesn't go back to normal soon consult a vet. Hope I helped =)

  2. Hamsters can get very cranky just like us.  They don't always like to be touched.  Your hamster may just not be feeling well to be honest.  I know it sounds silly but I've had my share of cranky hamsters.

Did you recently change her cage?  Sometimes they get stressed out by that and they take time to settle back into their home.

Were you handling food and then tried to pick her up?  If your hamster smells food on your fingers they will nibble or sometimes bite.  I wouldn't worry about her being pregnant unless you have a male in the cage with her.

Well, if your hamster is a year old that could be why too. I have found with many of my older hamsters as they age they can get a little temperamental.

I would just let her settle down a bit especially if you just changed her cage.  Don't try to pick her up or put your hand in the cage for the rest of the evening.  Let her calm down.

Hope this helped and good luck!

  3. She is most likely not having babies because she would be ripping fur off from her chest.but it is highly possible that you or something in her surroundings have done something to scare her.remember it takes an awful while to regain their trust.it could also be lonely or sick so if it progessivly continues take her to the ver.

Oh and its very possible its depressed.

  4. dwarfs can get lonely after a while without a friend. maybe if you try that, she will perk up. if she is not more than a year old, i don't think it is life or death. as long as she is eating and drinking, she should be ok, just probably a little lonely and wants a friend????? she could also be tired.

  5. I agree with oflow.

  6. SHES lonely :3

  7. I would just give her some space for the day.  Everyone's allowed to get moody once in awhile.  There's no way that she can be pregnant. They are only pregnant for a month before they give birth.  And don't by her a buddy (like one suggested) or you'll end up with a dead one eventually.  Hamsters do best solo.  There are a few things to watch for: loose stools, p**p stuck to her bottom, open sores, or a lot of scratching.  If you don't see any changes there, leave her alone a little while.  Stressing her out could lead to her getting sick.  She could die this early but most of mine make it to 2 years.  A bit of extra fruits and veggies wouldn't hurt.  At the pet store, we give ours chopped apples, cabbage, and oranges.  I give mine at home dehydrated bananas.
