  1. If you're not a very good student that can qualify for 100% need met schools, it means your choice of college will be limited. You're in that no man's land of being able to afford some state schools with just loans and having to borrow big for privates if that number is all your parents can pay.

  2. It's pretyy hard to give you a ball park number, it all depends on the school you are going to. If you are ging to a community college, you really can only get loan that are not based on need. You really can't expect grants, unless you are going to a really expensive school

check out www.collegetipsntricks.com for more information on financial aid.

  3. You will get nothing at schools that cost less than $12,249. For schools costing more it will be up to the individual school. You do not qualify for a Pell Grant. Everyone can get an unsubsidized loan and you would qualify for work study at high priced schools. If you can get into a school that meets full need, that's your best bet for getting good aid.

  4. You MIGHT get a small unsubsidized federal loan. Most likely you'll have to take out private loans or try for merit-based scholarships--your family need isn't that high, especially if you're going to a public school. Mine is 3500 and I'm about at the end of eligibility for federal aid.

Talk to any schools you're interested in and see what merit or organizational scholarships are available. Talk to your church or your workplace and see if they offer anything. You're probably going to need private aid if you're going to get anything, at least until you can claim independent status (which you can't do for FAFSA purposes until you're 25 unless you have special circumstances).
