Question:

My EYES :)?

I went to the eye doector today and he said I was seeing -3.75 in my left eye which is a severe difference from my right eye and from my check up last year. I am only sixteen years old and he said that it is very uncommon for kids my age to have this. He is going to have me wear corrective lenses for two weeks and see if it gets any better. What could this be?

Thanks For all Serious Answers.

PS. He was acting all serious (opthomologist) and asking me when my last MRI was. (Last year and clean) Could this be important?

  1. If what you're experiencing is short-sight, then I'm in the same boat too.

I'm 16 as well and mine is worse! I was diagnosed with it at 11 years old and it was -3.75. From back then until now, it had a big jump resulting in my eyes close to -6.00. Genetics play a big role too. If what you're having is short-sight, don't expect it to stop progressing fast until you're around 18-20, that's when it slows down. Until then, the best way to stop contributing anymore to it would be to limit the time you spend on the PC etc.

Yes, it is uncommon. People our age would normally be -1.00 or even less. The reason mine is so bad now is because I kinda ignored it when it first started, unaware of it's fast progression.

If you're lucky, you might only need to wear them for two weeks. I wish you all the best! :)
