Question:

My Ears Pop Alot. Any Suggestions On How To Make It Stop?

The popping can happen in both my ears. Right now it's just my right ear. I've never had ear infections when I was a baby, but a couple years ago I've went to my doctor twice for the same problem with my ears. She just gave me two different types of ear drops. It never helped all the way. I think she said there was too much ear wax building up far in my ear... so i couldn't clean it out (even though I clean often).

I try Hydrogen Peroxide in my ear to help clean it and ease pain. But I still have popping in my ears plus the muffled sound. The nose thing and other basic ways to get rid of pressure doesn't work. Any suggestions on how to get rid of all this?

  1. Although it's annoying your ears popping is a good thing.  When they "pop" it is the excess fluid being drained from the eardrum.  With excess fluid you can have problems with balance and ear infections.

There may a Eustachian tube dysfunction which is causing the popping, the next time you go to the Doctor discuss the possibility of getting ear tubes put in.  They put the tube in your ear drum and it maintains normal pressure in your ear.  It would stop the popping.

I'm 24 and have ear tubes, so they aren't just for babies.  They helped my balance, stopped ear infections, and made my ears not pop anymore.  They're heavenly.
