  1. Expected Family Contribution - it is a number that you get from your FAFSA, and is used to determine your eligibility for Federal Need based grants. Currently, if your EFC is 0, you are eligible to receive up to $4310/yr in the Pell grant, and if your EFC is 4110, you could get $400/yr. So, the lower your score, the higher amount of grant funding that you are likely eligible for. The new Aid year should be starting in July, so the EFC range will likely increase, and the amount that you can receive per year should increase as well.


  2. Expected Family Contribution... the lower the number, the more financial aid you're generally eligible for.
