My eyes are very dry too (I am using drops for relief though). Most of the time I feel the urge to close my eyes to get some rest but that does not solve anything.

My optometrist says i have perfect vision.

  1. The exact same thing happens to me. Sit up when you study. Also make sure that the room your in is lit extremely well. For the dryness I would continue with the eye drops but if it doesnt help ask the optometrist about it. Other than that you really should tell him what your dealing with. I have the same thing and it turns out that I was putting to much strain on my eyes and needed glasses just for reading.

  2. Sit up when reading, and get up to stretch after reading a couple pages.

  3. Try studying in a room without soft things or lots of horizontal designs..seriously. its been proven.... try to study in a room that is quiet, yet visually busy but not so busy you can't pay attention. set up when you do it too.

  4. It could be that you are using inadequate lighting, or that you are tired at the time, also you could be suffering from "Dry" eyes, I have the same problem and when they get dry they smart like h**l, get some" artificial tears" from your pharmacist and just put a couple of drops in each eye, they certainly work for me.
