My Facebook was just hacked, what to do?

I received a stupid video message, and I clicked on it. My computer wouldn't let me view the video. And this thing came up, telling me to download something, so I could view the video. It was some malware (Fake.Security Alert). It hacked into my Facebook and sent the message to some of my friends. I changed my password. I ran a virus scan, and nothing came up. I ran a Spybot Search & Destroy scan, and the malware showed up. I tried to remove it, but when I ran the scan again, it showed up on the list again. It's slowing my computer down. What can I do to remove this thing off my computer? My Norton virus protection is a 2003 edition.

  1. the video probably had a trojan horse or tracking cookie virus. download norton security, and do a virus scan.

  2. the same thing happened to me. i was on internet explorer when i got the virus and it screwed it up and got really slow. fortunately for me, i downloaded firefox recently and that works fine. my computer seems to be working fine other than internet explorer. so just switch to a different browser for now. i tried a scan and didnt find anything. i guess i'll have to get it fixed eventually but it doesnt seem to be all that bad, except internet explorer is messed up

  3. ohhhh i'm sorry! i hope the scan do not quarantine these malware! when you quarantine the viruses it keeps coming back! you need a scan that can detect and remove permanantly! try a online malware scan and use auslogics speed booster 4.1 to repair your errors and speed up your pc!
