hmm...  swish the water in the tank a little. see if it knocks it loose. If the thing knocks loose, then it was probably just some dirt. If it hangs on, then you've probably got an anchor worm, and will want to go to the pet store and get a medication that will take care of external parasites (something with Praziquantel)
