My Ford Escort 95 will not move when engine is running HELP!?

Question

In the morning i go to my car turn it on and drive away but when i do it seems like the engine is not responding. My RPM goes up but the car is crawling along. Also sometime the engine will not respond at all and ill be stuck at the side of the road revving my engine until it moves again. Once the car i guess has adjusted it decides to work fine. I drive 45 minutes to work and at the beginning i thought the car was completely gone when it started moving again and shifting fine, i drove all the way to work after with no problems.

ohhhhh and by the way its an automatic. Coupd someone please tell me what could be wrong with it.

low fluid in a auto will make it do that...top it up NOW...damage may already be iriversable..

Check the transmission fluid.

Have the transmission serviced. Have the fluid and filter changed.

Give it a complete tune up. This includes the wires, cap and rotor as well as spark plugs.

When was the last time you changed the gas filter?

What about the fuel pump?

sounds like its low on fluid.. better get it checked ASAP before it gets worse. It may already be to late..

Looks like the clutch plates are gone.Check with the mechanic.In this condition, the car will be consuming more gas too.

Either your transmission fluid is low, or your transmission is getting ready to die.

Check the fluid level.  But if you have allowed this condition to fester to the point of the vehicle not moving, then internal damage has occurred & a rebuilt tranny is in order.

It could be the fluid, or the transmission is slipping. It keeps falling into neutral probably. Depending on the car I con someone into buying it and getting something else, quite often getting a new/rebuilt trans sucks. Better off finding something else.
