My Function Keys stopped working (audio, too)

Question

Had some remote computer service done by the GS and the next day neither my audio nor my function keys worked. One of the things that was done was to turn off a bunch of start up items so that my sys would load faster. Do you think something was turned off that I need for my function keys and if so, which one?
