My GE Spacemaker XL 1800

Question

My GE Spacemaker XL 1800 microwave is making noise on the top end. It's not the turntable. There is a round disk at the top inside that has OPEN CLOSE markings. It seems to be held by a little button which won't push in. Is it just stuck? Any ideas on what's wrong and how to get at it?
