  1. My husband and MIL tricked me into finding out my ring size.  My MIL (mother in law) got herself a ring for mother's day a few years ago, and she had me try it on to see how it looked.  I didn't think anything of it, but we were the same ring size, so they knew exactly how big to get my ring.

It works.  If you do it nonchalantly she wont know.

  2. Ask her mom or sister. they should have the same hands, roughly. Ask them to compare hand sizes or something. Get the family involved. its cute. Good Luck!

  3. You could buy her a cheap ring, like a mood ring, kind of as a gag, be sure to note the size and surprise her with it then use that or go into a place like claires some place silly and try on ring randomly, you try on some too in a silly way then note the one that fits come back and buy it later so you can compare it at the jewery store.

  4. You can buy the ring in whatever stock size it is (6 or 7) then have it resized after you propose to her (and she accepts). I think most jewelry stores will offer one free resizing, and a decent jewelry store will offer free resizing for life. When you go shopping, make sure you ask what their policies are.

  5. Usually all the stores are stocked with size 7 rings (since that is the average wedding ring size).  See what their exchange policy is before you buy, or maybe while she is sleeping, quickly wrap a string around her finger, and tie into a knot for her size...take it off and she will never know, just dont make it too tight or she will wake up.  It works out some how b/c most guys do the same thing.

  6. Hi Matt!

There are so many things you can do. Probably one of the best ideas is to buy a stone - say a 1carat diamond (though mine is only .5 carats and its certainly big enough and I love it!) and present THAT to her rather than a ring. Then she can have the ring designed the way she likes, with the stone you proposed to her with. Good idea huh!

When my boyfriend proposed in Feb I had already told him that I didnt want him to buy me a ring beforehand, because I am fairly picky and I didnt want to have to wear a ring I wasnt 100% happy with for the rest of my life. So he proposed without a ring and we went and had one handmade for me just the way I wanted it :D

Don't stress, she'll be so excited to be propsed too that she won't be too worried if you propose with or without a ring! Though from personal experience I would say propose WITHOUT a ring and then go and pick one out TOGETHER, which is so nice to do :D

    GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!! x

  7. Go to your local jewelry store and pick out a few rings that you like.  The jeweler can then size the ring to her.  Most rings come in an average size 7, but if it doesn't fit her, just have the jeweler re-size it.  Or you can go together and she can help pick it out.  Either way, whatever ring you buy, the jeweler will re-size it for you.

  8. Compare to someone who has similar sized hands to her. Do NOT try anything involving a ring going on her hand to figure out the size. It's transparent as all get out. (I was all set to tell him that he could just ask for my ring size if he tried that trick again).

Try holding your hand up to hers and teasing her about how small her hands are (don't do this if she has issues with how small she is, or if she's exceptionally large). Use that to estimate whose hand you want to measure.

You're going to need to size it anyhow, so if you're getting a ring which cannot be re-sized (DON'T DO IT!) buy it afterwards, once she knows. It doesn't count as having her pick out the ring, because you've already picked it for her. If you want to propose with the ring, use a picture. Beyond the size of her hands is the shape of them. My fingers are stubby to the point where I had to get my ring re-sized after the first time, because at the store we thought a smaller size would be ok. This was despite having my hands measured by the clerk there, and her agreement with the size we picked.

  9. ask one of ur girlfriends family members to tell ur girlfriend they r getting her a ring 4 no reason and have them take her to a jewlry store and messure her finger to get her ring size and then her family member can givve u her size

  10. my fiance fitted 3 different sizes of ring while i was sleeping, im kind of a heavy sleeper so i didnt really noticed until i saw the video :)

  11. It is not necessary that you give her ring, But the most is that you love her perfectly that is more valuable than the ring.
