  1. Any time your dog attempts to bite you, yelp-squeal in high pitched voice.  It's what the dogs do themselves and so your dog understands it's not something you welcome and will stop doing in no time.

    It really works.

  2. My daughters dog was a biter.  My other daughter was walking the dog one day and I heard her yell NO! She said the dog tried to bite her.  A few minutes later I heard the dog screaming, I turned to see my daughter with the whole top of this dogs head in her mouth biting shaking her. Dog is a husky,  daughter was 12 at the time.  Dog has never tried to bite or nip since that day.

  3. The two that gave you advice are both right, but it does depend on how you have been training him for other things. He will be more scared of a hard stern voice and silly as it sounds point to his face when you say it and look right at him standing right in front of him. I have a Belgium Shepherd and the first time I tried it I was so socked at the response from him. But you have to use the right tone of voice that is what he responds to the most, if you giggle or anything that is not serious he will not listen to you, it is vital. This is a very playful breed and he might really hurt someone by accident if you don't train him fast.

  4. That is very bad.  Please don't ever let your dog around young kids.

  5. he's not that old, bite him back. show him your in charge and do not put up with it. Don't hurt him, just be firm.

  6. You need to obedience train your dog. You can begin now with a firm: NO Mouth and remove your arm. Do not reward him or tell him good boy for letting go. You can replace your arm with a chew toy that is acceptable to you. Your dad should have known better, but irregardless your shepherd should be smart enough to learn the difference.Consistency is imperative. Never let him use his mouth on you period. Never let him place his mouth on anything other than his own toys. He will know the difference between putting his mouth on you and protecting you from someone should the need arise.

Obedience is great for German Shepherds, they excell at it and love having a job. They need a leader and right now you are not the leader.

  7. everytime he tries to bite, say in a stern voice No,

it will sooon leanr, you just have to make sure it knows you are the dog owner,
