My Golbat wont evolve.?

Question

Its lv 40 in my leafgreen i just beat erika and it starts to evolve. i dont press any buttons and it just stops... then instead of it saying "goalbat stopped evolving" it just saays "....?" what gives it does this every lv i raise it!

It is definately because you can't get any pokemon past first generation until you get the national pokedex. Stupid right? After that it will evolve.

mine does it too apparently you have to beat the elite 4 and get the new pokedex off oak

Just get a crobat from ruby/sapphire/emerald version and trade it over to leafgreen using a link cable Ive done it before, this will work because they are 2 gba games but i think you may have to have the national dex
getting one on r s and e is so much easier just make ur golbat love you and it will evolve just like that
im not sure if there's another way to do it on leafgreen but this is an easy way. good luck with it. :)
