  1. well im in 9th grade and i have the same exact problem. i get bad grades but one day i just said no to all the other stuff because i thought of my future. i wouldnt want to be some hobbo on the streets with no education. you should just start to do your work and study. you can alkways have as much time as you want AFTER the main task has been completed.

  2. If you have a problem focusing, home school is NOT the answer. It's only going to get you in DEEPER because you have to be able to work independently and stay on task, and it sounds like that's exactly your current weakness.

I think it's possible that you might have ADD or ADHD, which I have and two of my three kids have too - and I strongly urge that you see about getting tested.  Talk to your parents or your teacher - the school district is responsible for getting you evaluated and getting you the help you (probably) need.

I know it's a scary thing, like being in a car with no brakes... but you'll be okay if you just speak up - NOW.

*hug*  hang in there, it'll be all right.

  3. Why is this posted in homeschooling?

  4. This happened to me as well. I had rappy grades in 7th and went to summer school then failed 8th grade. Your best bet would either just go cold turkey, or have your parents put your PC somewhere where you won't find it. I discovered that my PC can actually help me a lot for schoolwork as well, so maybe give it a try. I'm in 11th grade and doing quite well now too. My grades have kept going up since 9th grade. And though I cant seperate myself from my PC I've taught myself to channel the important things first. Plus you'll have less homework as you work through your grade levels. so you'll still have a little time for your PC. Just get your work done first.

  5. IM in 10th grade. u and i have the exact same problem.    Masturbation helped me alot with this problem.

  6. You don't have to completely give up your computer but if that's the only way you can get your grades back on track, then do it.  Think about it, at this point you need to get yourself in the habit for doing your homework and studying for tests.

After you get home from school stay in the kitchen/family room or the place where your parent spends the most time at, unless you're not allowed in that room.  Set aside a specific amount of time for you to be on the computer.  Say you get home from school at 3:30.  Spend time with your parent and maybe ask for help with some homework, and set aside computer time for say 6:30-bed time.  If you're in a room with a parent you'll see it's easier to want to do your work.  If you don't eliminate the computer completely, it makes you have nothing other than doing homework and studying while the computer is in off time.  Do the same for the tv if that's also a problem.

    Good luck!

  7. I have the same problem now i dont know if they have VCS ( Virtual Community School) In your state by in ohio they have VCS ohio and before i came here i had all F's and now all A's

    GOOD LUCK

  8. I had the same problem that went from 7th to 10th grade, my grades were mediocre but there's only one thing you can do.  You have to give your parents your computer for a few months, if not you will keep touching it, it's an addiction and the internet is so vast that you may not be able to stop

  9. First, you need to be aware of your choices.

Right now, you are CHOOSING to spend time on the computer and therefore CHOOSING to not have adequate time for homework and studying, which result in poor grades; in essence, you are CHOOSING to have poor grades because you are choosing the very things that are causing the bad grades.

Realizing that you are choosing the state you are now in can be freeing--it means that you can choose to do something else.

You need to make different choices, choices that will lead to better grades. Things like doing your homework and studying FIRST. Things like asking your teacher for help with math, or asking your parents for a tutor or going to the library to find books that can help you with math.

What sort of choices do students who do well in school make? Those are the same choices you need to make.
