Question:

My Great Dane Puppy started limping?

I have a 7 month old, female, German Breed Great Dane. She is 85 lbs. We were feeding her Eagle For Giant Breed Puppies, which was recommended on the Great Dane Lady Website. But, we live overseas and due to shipping problems we are feeding her Nutro Senior which is low in protein (20%) and fat (10%). But she started limping last week while we were house sitting another dane. I am worried about her and I wrapped her joints, which seems to be helping. She has been on this food for over a month or so, enough that we are in our 3 rd bag of it. Should I go back to the Eagle? Is she limping because of the nutrients, or from strain from playing with the other Dane (12 m/o male 130 lbs)? I just want to do what is right by her. We have an appointment today for shots, but my vet office is not to knowledgable about HOD or other giant breed problems. Any advise would be helpful.

  1. NEVER FEED ANY DOG PEDIGREE!

  2. My Dane started limping today She wont put weight on it and is just laying around I'm waiting till morning to see how she feels. From what I have researched and been told by many other Dane owners you should never give high protien as pups They need the Large breed puppy which has less protien and higher calcium for strong bone growth.
