My ***** of a grandmother tried to pick up my green anole, irvine, whom ive had for a year and i have told my entire family to not pick them up (i had 4 total but 3 females died from being attacked by crickets and ants) and she ******* broke off his tail and claims i shouldnt be mad it doesnt hurt him, it happened to one of the females right after i got home with her and i was so mad at myself i slammed my head into the wall upwards of 10 times it pisses me off to see him without a tail wtf should i do?

  1. Well it sounds like your grandmother does not respect life.  The tail is designed to fall off as  a natural deterrent went being attacked.  HOWEVER this does hurt the anole, and the tail will not grow back.  I have seen where a little bit grows back as it heals, but the tail will never be the same length again.  Also your grandmother has severely stressed this little guy out.    Also if your anoles are dying from their food attacking them, you are feeding too much and maybe to big.  Also  ants?  are you catching wild food and giving it to them??  This is a very bad idea.  The best diet for an anole is a pet store cricket that you feed "gut load" to, and then just before you give it to your anole you dust them with "Reptical"  I handle my anoles, but I do not pick them up.  I coax them on to my hand then lift them out.    Hope this helped in some way....

  2. I hate when people say oh dont worry about a tail it will grow back. on some animals yes it will grow back but let me get a knife and cut  half your butt off and tell me its ok.. I agree you should be mad. There is a huge possability this tail will never grow back. very few do.. Good Luck!

  3. Don't worry, the tails grow back :)
