My Guardian Angel expected to prevail in Edmundson Electrical Handicap
My Guardian Angel is likely to win the Edmundson Electrical Handicap at Chester in England on Friday, June 29, 2012. A cash prize of £4,043 has been set for the winner of the class-5 event.
A total of 13 runners will be seen battling in the 1 mile, 2 furlong and 75 yard race, which is scheduled to start at 20:25 GMT. However, only one will walk away victorious and that could be My Guardian Angel, as he is in decent form right now.
The three-year-old gelding did not start his career positively, as he finished 10th in his first ever race. He entered with a starting price of 33 to 1 that time around and lacked the speed to match any of the front runners.
Things did not work out well for the Mark H. Tompkins’ trainee in his second outing as well, as he struggled to display competence on the track. He ended up eighth back then, but his trainer did not lose hope and kept on working hard.
In his final race of the 2011 season, My Guardian Angel finally showed signs of improvement and ended up third, despite being rated as one of the least favourites to win. His speed was a lot better this time and he kept on pressing hard until the end.
The start to 2012 was also good for Araafa’s son, as he finished third yet again. He went onto improve more and gave a tough time to the race winner when they shared the racing track next time. However, he had to settle for the runner up's place, which was quite encouraging for his team.
In his sixth race, My Guardian Angel finally managed to bring up his maiden victory by one and a half lengths. He was rated as the favourite to win that time around and did not disappoint the bookies.
Overall, the favourite runner has participated in six events and today will be his seventh run. He will be partnered by seasoned jockey, Chris Catlin, who has won a lot of races at this level and will be eying a solid show yet again.
However, there is a threat from Silvas Romana, who has been rated as the favourite to win by the bookies.
