I have tried fruits and veggies but the only thing so far she will eat are plums and apples. I know she needs veggies too, but i cant get her to eat them. Ive tried lettuce, bell pepper, bananas, pineapples, carrots, cabbage, broccolli and tangerines.

  1. then feed it plums and apples.

  2. this may sound odd, but i would actually take foods like banana, oranges, grated carrots, chopped lettuce and broccoli, and of course some plum or some apple, and blend it all together, so its a nice sloppy consistency then lather it on some apple and feed it to your guinea pig. you can probably eventually start feeding it the actyal veggie.

  3. A couple things to try...

try a different dry food sometimes they can be picky about their dry food...does it drink its water? You might want to take it to the vet. Does it seem lethargic (ie does it run around, notice you when you pay attention to it?)

  4. feed it guinea pig food

  5. That's perfectly normal. She'll be okay for a little while, just continue offering the vegetables and leaving them in her cage. She'll eventually try them and end up liking them, but it might take some time. No need to try anything fancy, patience works miracles. Also, when my most recent guinea pig was in quarantine and we'd just gotten him he wouldn't try most vegetables. Once he went in with his new cagemate he saw everything he was eating and got jealous, so he tried them too! Now he'll eat absolutely anything.

  6. If your guinea pig won't eat those things, you can try this. I did this for my hamster, but it was because he couldn't chew hard foods.

Try baby food, flavored like veggies, but make sure they have real veggies in them. You can also talk to a vet to see if there is any other types of food to recommend, but that is what worked for me. What you could do is put some baby food in a plastic spoon and let him l**k it up, or put it on some bread to add to the nutrition. They have carrots, bananas, and lots of other kinds!

NOTICE- Hamsters cannot have green beans, they are poisonous! I think it is the same for all rodents, so just stay clear of those. Hope I helped!

  7. i also have this problem with my guinea pigs. if shes is only eating plums and apples try taking the plum and  take the juice out of it and pour it on the lettuce (red leaf works best) but still add the apples and plums you can also do the same thing with all the other veggies. if she is eating the lettuce after a while start taking out the apples and plums

and she'll be eating her balanced amount of veggies!!

i had the same problem they were only eating lemons and grapes so i did the same with lemon!!
