So I'm trying to connect my PS3 to my HDTV (Samsung LN32A450) with a HDMI cable. The cable works perfectly if I use the 480p resolution, but as I soon set my PS3 to 720p or above, the picture starts showing static and the audio cuts in and out. Have any ideas?

  1. This is a 720p TV, so 1080i or 720p should work, but don't try 1080p.

Check the Samsung web site if they have any firmware updates for your TV. Looks like you have an HDMI-compatibility problem.

If Samsung can't fix your issue, simply use component. It will work at 720p just fine.
