My HP laptop won't turn on?

I was using my laptop, and turned it off. about an hour later, i turned it back on, and nothing happened. i took out the battery and whiped away some dust, and now when I turn it on, the lights turn on like it is on, but i see nothing. nothing physical has happened to it either, plz help

Do you have the HP Pavilion dv2000? I have that laptop and I had the same problem so I called HP and they told me it was a common problem and I had to send it to get repaired.

it coulod be the screen .

try to connect another screen if u got one to your laptop ,and see

what will happen.
